What does my PrepMeKit prepare me for? 

The most comprehensive emergency kit available, your PrepMeKit is designed to provide essentials for the first 72 hours following an emergency, until help can arrive. It includes food, water, shelter, first aid, tools, and electronics in a ready-to-go backpack and is suited to a wide variety of disasters, including shelter-in-place, evacuation, flood, earthquake, wildfire, power outage, radiation, and pandemic.

Is PrepMeKits currently experiencing shipping delays or product shortages due to COVID-19?

While we anticipate there may be some delays on certain products due to manufacturing shutdowns by a few of our suppliers, we are currently operating as normal. We will keep you informed by posting updates on our home page as we receive them! 

Please be aware that some items in your PrepMeKit may be a different brand or variety than what is shown on the website. But don’t worry – all substituted items are rigorously tested for quality by our team.

Are N95 masks included in my PrepMeKit?

Yes. Each ReadyKit includes one N95 mask per person, to provide protection during California’s seasonal wildfires or the current COVID-19 outbreak.

PrepMeKit has donated thousands of N95 masks and face shields, as well as hundreds of energy bars as part of our ongoing commitment to supporting our frontline health workers. For more information, see our Community Impact Page.

Do I need to add anything to my PrepMeKit?

PrepMeKits aims to provide all the basic items you will need in an emergency, but we do recommend that you supplement your kit with some personal items, such as insurance information, baby formula or pet food, and your personal phone charging cord.

Do the meals cater to my family’s food allergies and dietary restrictions?

Absolutely! We try our very best to meet the needs of all of our customers. The meal bars and hot meal options included in our PrepMeKits cover a variety of dietary options, including Vegetarian, Vegan, Gluten Free, Lactose Free, Tree Nut Free, and Peanut Free.

What should I do when something is expiring in my kit?

You will receive an automatic email reminder within a few months of expiration for any items in your kit. You have the option to click the “Replace my Expiring Items” button in the email and have them sent to you automatically. For security reasons, you will be asked to verify your mailing address and credit card information.

When your new items arrive, simply replace the expiring ones with the new ones. And if you’re replacing food in your kit, we recommend a fun backyard “camping trip” to try out the delicious meals under the stars!

Does my purchase help support any charitable causes?

We’re so glad you asked. 1% of proceeds from each sale will help fund the World Community Service program at Los Altos Rotary Club, supporting programs in public health, education, community development, and sustainability – with every penny going directly to those in need. How do I give a PrepMeKit as a gift?

PrepMeKits make excellent gifts, if we do say so ourselves! For gift certificates, just send us an email at info@prepmekits.com with the recipient’s name, contact information, and the gift amount, and we’ll take care of it for you!

Is there a discount for purchasing in bulk? 

Yes! If you’d like to order kits for your kids’ school or for your business, please contact us at info@prepmekits.com for bulk discount information.

Tell me about shipping. 

We strive to process and ship out orders within two business days. We attempt to post any delay in the shipping process to our Platform. Typically, flat rate shipping is 3-5 business days, expedited shipping is 2-3 business days, and express shipping is 1-2 business days. All orders come with tracking numbers and are shipped via FedEx from Redwood City, California.

We currently do not ship outside of the U.S. Please check back in the future, to see if our policies have changed.

All orders placed through the Platform are subject to our acceptance. We cannot guarantee that all kits listed as “in stock” will ship right away, as inventory changes significantly from day-to-day. In rare cases, a kit may be in stock when you place an order but is sold out by the time we attempt to process the order. We will notify you if this happens and cancel the kit from your order, or we will notify you if a shipment may be made at a later date.

What is PrepMeKits’ return policy?

Once you receive your order from PrepMeKits, please open the box and inspect your kit even if you do not intend to use the supplies immediately.

Within the 45-day of your purchase of a kit directly from PrepMeKits, if you are unsatisfied with your kit for any reason, please reach out to us at info@prepmekits.com with a detailed description of the issue and we will contact you with your options which may, at our discretion, include a full refund of the purchase price of your Kit.

If any item in your Kit is defective, please contact us at info@prepmekits.com with a detailed description of the issue and, at your choice, we will (a) replace the defective item at no cost to you; or (b) refund the fair market value of the defective item (as determined by PrepMeKits) upon your return of the defective item (return shipping to be paid by PrepMeKits).
