A Year in Reflection: How We’re Giving Back

As you may know, one of our favorite topics is “giving the gift of life.” Last month, we talked about donating blood or volunteering your time - and how that comes back to support your community. Continuing this spirit of giving, we want to tell you what PrepMeKits is doing to give back – because that’s what we’re all about!

We’ve always said that preparation is an act of generosity. When we’re self-reliant and safe, we’re in a better position to help others. This is the core value behind PrepMeKits. Throughout this past year (and every year to come), a percentage from every PrepMeKit sale is donated to help fund service programs around the world.

Last year, we raised a total of $14,851 to provide 5,000 face shields and 1,200 masks to the hardest-hit Bay Area and New York City hospitals during the height of the beginning of the pandemic.

This year, we’re partnering with the Rotary Club of Los Altos to help with their many global initiatives. Some of the projects include: education for at-risk girls in Côte d’Ivoire along with a women’s farming program to provide daily nutrition for students; enabling at-risk girls in India to stay in school by giving them essential hygiene products, and much more.

The programs we’re supporting are sustainable and run by local community volunteers, and will benefit many future generations. These global initiatives reach around the world to provide for basic needs in underprivileged communities – with every penny going directly to those in need.

PrepMeKits is honored to support Los Altos Rotary Club’s initiatives and to play a small part in making the world a better, safer place. Preparing yourself for emergencies is one of the best ways you can take care of your local community. Thank you for being a part of our giving back.
